La Table d'hôtes au Plessis: Homemade only, quality products and 90% organic
Our personal vegetable garden and our producers provide us with vegetables and fruits for part of the year, grown without fertilizer or treatment.
Every week the drive to the farm of the zamis allows me to have vegetables, fruits, eggs, The farm station in Autun allows me to stock up on meat and cheese.
Click here for the farm station website
I make my bread with organic flours, for dinner in the evening and you will have fresh bread from the bakery in the morning for breakfast.
The yogurts are also homemade with organic goat's milk, or come from the farm. I don't always have any depending on the season.
For everything else I get my supplies from the organic store in Autun, which offers regional products...or from local markets or from the La Fourchette website (to save on trips to Autun) for certain French products. If you are interested, you have a referral link below.
There is meat, we eat little of it and I buy it directly from the producer, organic for beef, pork... or at the farm station in Autun.
We buy our wine from a small Burgundy producer, the "Domaine de la Luolle" in Rosey, which offers us a quality wine that is also labeled organic. Visits and direct sales at the estate are possible.

Environmental protection
It is part of our values, our choices, and we like to share them.
2024: purchase of a bicycle trailer to go shopping in Autun by bike.
2022: installation of photovoltaic panels for self-consumption with management system by Monabee and installation of a charging station for electric cars.
2022: purchase of a used electric Kangoo .
2021: as part of our municipality's membership in the Morvan park, we are joining the Morvan Park Brand .
2021: installation of a drip irrigation system for the vegetable garden with 2 rainwater tanks to limit water consumption.
In 2019 we invested in a thermodynamic water heater for our guest rooms in order to reduce our energy consumption.
September 2013 marks the start of our photovoltaic production with the installation of 25 m² of panels. We are delighted to be able to produce the energy that we will consume in our home.
We participate in the eco-gesture program Gites de France, which materializes the efforts that we already make on a daily basis.
We have to create an LPO refuge in order to protect the bird species present on our land, to list them and to promote them, you will be able to observe our little swallows which return every year, the barn owls, the bats and many others in our small insect hotel.
Since 2016, we have been trying to significantly reduce our waste, encouraged in this process by our 10-year-old daughter. This cannot be refused.
You will find information on site.
Our approach is above all to have a healthy life and to respect our environment as much as possible.
In our daily life:
2022: self-production with solar panels and installation of electric car charging station.
Saving water (aerator, ecooxygen shower), electricity, selective sorting, compost, use of natural products, recycling, ......, installation of rainwater collector for drip irrigation.
This is why we decided to heat the cottage to 19°C with electric heating (blocked) and to top up with wood at the temperature you want.
This is also why I do not iron the bed linen, I chose polycotton linen, which creases very little. Saving water and electricity is important. On the other hand, cleanliness is very important, I use ecological but effective cleaning products (white vinegar, black soap, white stone, etc.). The linen is washed without chemicals, so it does not have a very pronounced smell but that of the plants that I add and which is very soft. I use the dryer which guarantees you very soft linen and saves me ironing.
The towels are made of very good quality organic cotton.
We provide recycling bins for sorting plastics, glass, etc. under the wood shed.
The compost must be taken to the composters in the garden using the gray boxes provided for this purpose.
There is only one trash can in the rooms to limit the use of plastic bags on a daily basis.
Food
Above all, I seek to have a healthy diet, for us, the children, with varied products, vegetables and starches at each meal, cereals, fresh fruits, meat but less and less and of quality and a maximum of homemade products, for the quality, but also to reduce our waste and our impact on the environment. A large part of the purchases are made in organic stores and in bulk, therefore without packaging.
We are rediscovering many varieties of vegetables that are rarely used and which give us varied and flavorful meals.
We try to use natural and organic products whether for home maintenance, for care, for painting work... I make my own paints, stains and I teach the children all these notions of environmental protection.
The kitchen, the extension of our whole natural spirit, simple and a very important place for me.
I love finding new flavors, new methods of cooking and preservation, using healthy, local products and cooking them in a way that preserves their properties.
This is why, quite naturally and little by little, my kitchen was equipped with an extractor (with an endless screw) for juices, hummus, etc., a KitchenAid robot which is a great help to me in preparing pasta, bread, for slicing, etc. Cooking is also very important, which is why I chose, in addition to natural cast iron or 18/10 stainless steel for large containers from the ABE brand or Le vitaliseur de Marion ( I am a prescriber and can send you a discount code by email ). I also cook with healthy, antibacterial and very long-lasting products, which are silit silitec products:
I must say that this choice is largely confirmed by a remarkable preservation of taste and a high quality of cooking.
I do everything I can to obtain the best quality foods, most of the time organic, and to work with them in order to respect them and preserve the maximum nutrients and quality that they can provide us.
On request: Promotional code at La Fourche and for the purchase of a Marion vitalizer
